Arendsig (Eagle's View) is a family-owned farm with its own vineyards and boutique cellar situated in the southern foot hills of the Robertson Valley. It is in this beautiful valley that Lourens van der Westhuizen and his team hand-select grapes of the finest quality, from which he handcrafts his quality wines with its unique and distinct aroma, flavour and character.

Arendsig Accommodation in Bonnievale

Arendsig Wine Farm offers accommodation in 4 well-equipped, self-catering farm cottages.  The cottages are situated between the Single Vineyard Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards, 100m from the Breede River.  This tranquil setting makes for the ideal weekend get-away or family holiday.

The 4 cottages have two en-suite bedrooms each, with a basic kitchen and living room. Gas stove and microwave. Beautiful view of the vineyards. 

Built-in fire places in all the living rooms double up as braai facilities. All the cottages also have portable braai facilities outside with a wood fired hottub. The cottages all overlook the Arendsig vineyards.

Things to do @ Arendsig

Arendsig is well suited for mountain biking.  Bring your own bicycle and choose the route that suits your level of fitness.  There are tracks that are suited for a family ride with younger children.  For the more experienced rider, there are tracks that Lourens used as training ground for his participation in the Cape Epic 2018.  All tracks start on Arendsig and proceed across a number of the neighbouring farms.

The Breede River cuts through the Arendsig Wine Farm.  The river not only provides valuable irrigation water, but also good fun for casual fishermen.  

The river also provides rowing enthusiasts the opportunity to put their canoe in the river for a paddle.

Lourens and Lizelle developed walking trails to teach their children about the local flora.  As guests at Arendsig, you are welcome to enjoy these walking trails and discover the unique plants, indigenous to the area.  The distance is 5 kilometres and ideal for adults and children.  

Private wine tasting with Lourens are a must during your visit.  Learn about his passion for hand crafting wines, reflecting the terroir of the single vineyards.  Witness the winemaking process in the cellar and taste the Single Vineyard Wines. You can enjoy a cheese platter on the verandah of the old cellar. These need to be pre-booked.

Arendsig is situated within 20 minutes driving distance of Montagu, Robertson and only 10 minutes away from Bonnievale. The stunning village McGregor is also nearby. All of these towns have numerous restaurants and around 56 wineries situated within 50 kilometres.
